The Skelligs Wall Art Photo Block 154
My dad Jim, was a photographer with the OPW National Parks and Monuments from 1955 until he retired in ’85. He trained my eye to see how dramatic light could bring landscape to life. He would calculate what time of the day he needed to achieve the right light.
It took me until 20 years after he died to get to the astonishing Skelligs off the Kerry coast, where he had visited numerous times in the 70's. I got some time alone after the crowds departed one cold October morning and I was thrilled with the few images I got. I know my day would have admired them.
