Ben Bulben Wall Art Photo Block No.1
In the 70’s I would often wander the back roads from Limerick to Donegal, wandering aimlessly without a map. When a client called to ask me had I any landscape photographs of the Sligo area, I said no, nothing recent. But I would have in 2 days.
I always preferred the Leitrim approach to Ben Bulben instead of the usual Tourist route on the western side. I got up at 04.00 the following morning and drove to Sligo. It was a miserable day. So I went and sat in Eithnes restaurant in Mulloughmore and had a very long lunch. As I headed home I took the slow road back and over my shoulder the sky lightened. I drove hard and fast to this spot and was rewarded with lovely late October light. I jumped onto the roof of my car and didn’t even have time to put up a tripod. But my client wasn’t the only one happy with the result.
