Photography
My name is Johnny Bambury, a semi retired Drogheda based photographer, I started my photographic career in 1971 as a photographic printer Fleet Street London. I was 17 years old and was instantly in love with the excitement and passion of photography. Even though I spent all my professional career photographing events, equipment, property, transport and heavy machinery, politicians and visiting celebrities, I couldn’t wait for a day off so as I could wander the countryside and take my own photographs of people and places I visited. I was born in Killarney and moved as a young boy to Dublin, but I never lost my love for the dramatic landscape and ever changing light of my home county, Kerry. In the 60’s I would ask my dad what was the best camera in the World and he would answer ‘the one you have with you’.My motto is “It’s ALL about the light”. I hope you enjoy viewing my world as seen through my eyes.
Johnny Bambury.
